This FKEY reports the current size of all the contents of the active and alternative Clipboards. Useful where size is an important consideration, e.g. when composing descriptions of files to upload to CompuServe, pasting large pictures, etc.
INSTALLATION:
There are several ways to install the FKEY, depending on how you organise your disk. Personally, I use Suitcase™ to open the FKEY file, but if you prefer you can use a FKEY moving utility (such as the FKEY Manager) to copy it into a large FKEY file, or indeed the System file. You could also use ResEdit™ to copy the FKEY resource into your System file, or one of several other utilities that are available.
USAGE:
To use the FKEY (once it’s installed, of course), simply press Command-Shift-7 (or whichever number you have renumbered the FKEY to) to activate it. A small window will appear, listing the kind of content plus the size for each item in the active and alternative Clipboards. If there is more than one item in the Clipboard (e.g. a LINK and a PICT, from a SuperPaint™ document), each is listed seperately and the total size is given.
The active Clipboard is the Clipboard that is currently in use. The alternative Clipboard is generated by one of my other Freeware products, AltClipboard FKEY. <plug mode on> This very useful product allows you to copy two things at once, and is available from me directly, or from many services such as CompuServe and others. <plug mode off> If you don’t have an alternative Clipboard available, ClipSize? will report this.
COMPATIBILITY:
This FKEY should work on all Macintosh models (from the 512KE upwards).

This FKEY is being released as Freeware. You may give it away to anyone, provided it is unmodified and you include this document with the FKEY.
